Happy New Year! What better way to spend the 1st week of the new year than going to Las Vegas to see
Neil Diamond in concert.

The MGM is a great place to see any act perform. This performance was no different. Even the “nosebleed” seats offer a good view and the two screens hanging on both sides of the stage provide a view of anything you might miss from your seat.

Neil Diamond, the one man show, gave the audience everything they asked for and more. He let everyone know there would be no breaks in the show. But at one point when he was preparing to sing one of his songs from his new album, “Home Before Dark,” he said,” You can take a potty break here if you want to.”

Fans were on their feet singing along loud and clear! Even when they

didn’t remember all the words, they sang along anyway.  (Oh, was that me?)

Diamond gave the fans what they came to see. He chatted with the crowd and played up to some of the

The night of this concert was the end of a particularly stressful week!  What a way to UNWIND!  That’s the Way( I Like It) and Shake Your Booty are a great way to let it all go!

I was fortunate enough to have a seat center stage row seven.  In fact, when KC separated the audience in two so we could sing different rounds, I was flat in the middle.  I could sing both or either sides!

When KC arrived on stage, he connected with everyone.  He made comments about how many years had passed by relating to the younger members of the audience that “KC & The Sunshine Band” were comparable to today’s “Insync”!  Although KC was suffering from a touch of the flu – he did not spare anything on stage.  There was even talk of canceling that evening’s performance.  I, for one, am extremely happy they decided to

follow the old adage “The show must go on”!

I know KC will be back next year.  Take the time to see the show; go down memory lane, & experience the days of Disco & Funk from the originals!  You will discover  what many already know “KC & The Sunshine Band is still as widely popular today as they were when they first danced onto the music scene 35 years ago.”

Clips from his childhood played on the two screens above the stage. With his mother in the audience, it was a nice tribute.

The crowd cheered for encores and they were not disappointed. Diamond didn’t miss any of the favorites from Cherry Cherry to Sweet Caroline .

As we were leaving, a lady grasping her program from the concert, turned around, pointed and said, “He loves ME!” and laughed.
